The Typing Calculator is the version I personally use because it is extremely discreet and perfect for heavy STEM classes. It can pass a full 360 check from teachers, which is important for higher stakes exams like the SAT, ACT, PE, FE, and college exams in general. When you first receive it, you put rechargeable AAA batteries and keep one battery popped out when not in use to fully shut off power to the microcontroller. After that, you enter a short code from the buyer's guide channel you unlock after purchasing, and the calculator instantly downloads ChatGPT. You then press connect on the calculator and link it to your hotspot or any wifi that does not require a sign-in page, and from there, you can ask GPT anything. For harder STEM problems, you type symbols that a normal calculator cannot type, such as integrals, summations, limits, ohms, omega and more, but it becomes very easy once you adjust to the ABC keyboard. New users start slow, but typing speed improves quickly as you learn where every letter is. After sending a question, you wait between one and sixty seconds, usually around thirty, and the calculator responds with full work, steps, explanations, and a final checked answer. It still keeps all normal calculator functions, and if you reset it, the GPT program deletes, but you can download it again in seconds with the same code. On the technical side, this is based on an open-source typing calculator made by Chromalock, but I built my own electrical setup and expanded the code heavily. I also finetuned GPT5 specifically for the calculator so it can handle the level of work I actually use in my classes like multivariable calculus, physics one calculus-based, and statics. The microcontroller is wired into the correct ports, mainly the IO port, which allows all data to move in and out, and the wifi setup uses a built-in webpage manager. When you press configure, the calculator creates a temporary wifi network, you connect to it, enter the IP address I provide, and a small setup page appears where you enter your wifi name, password, and your configuration details.
